They thought they owned the planet…

With a sense of pride, they strode as if the world belonged to them…
They slaughtered other beings, like in a leisure game,

They hunted the boar, they killed the deer…
Destroying the beauty and creating fear,

They crushed the ants beneath their feet…
Cutting the trees was a campfire treat,

They thought all the creatures are their toys…
Until an invisible virus came without even a voice,

Now they feel helpless and see fear…
For they sense that the inevitable is near,

They are in denial about how it came…
Not a semblance of remorse, such a shame!

Cruelty has always been their theme…
They do not care to hear nature scream,

It looks like nature has set up this fight…
As it always does, to set things right…

We must share the planet, we better realize…
Lest we end up paying a higher price,

We should pledge to protect and care…
Without this planet, we will be nowhere…

As I say this, we should all feel betrayed…
Somewhere again, a cruel game has been played…

A baby elephant in a mother’s womb dies…
I feel a tear drop whelming up my eyes…
